How to Steam from Home

When it comes to Yoni Steaming from home, the Exotic Star blog has everything you need to know to create a beautiful steaming experience.





Although steaming has been around for ages, Western society is just now catching on and rather fast. Yoni steaming is a very delicate process that yields several beneficial results. Experiencing the pleasure of being catered to in a spa, is a luxurious feeling. However, it can be very pricey. So if you would like to complete the process at a low cost to you and within the privacy of your own home, then please read on.

The steaming process is very easy and simple, so do not overthink this. The items you will need to gather is:

  • yoni steaming stool (no worries if you do not have one, this can be substituted with a regular cooking pot and/or heat resistant bowl)

  • 1 ounce mixture of herbs

  • essential oils (optional)

  • purified water (or just regular tap water will do)

  • steaming skirt (or a large blanket to towel to trap the steam)

For my ladies who are into meditations or just really getting into the mood; feel free to gather your healing stones, candles and anything else to completely relax your mind and body. Now time for the instructions.


Step 1


Gather your pot or heat resistant bowl. There are several different ways I have seen women do this, but basically all your doing is boiling your herbs for about 5-10 mins. I personally prefer to heat my water and then pour it over my herbs, so the herbs are not overcooked and still retains its healing properties. Nonetheless, heat your water/ herbs. I generally use 1 ounce of herbs, but some women will use 3 ounces and so forth.


Step 2


Once you have your water or mixture heated, you can either transfer the mixture into the heat resistant bowl and place it into the toilet. Or, you can just place the pot into the toilet. **Now i have read where some women just pour their mixture into the toilet water. DO NOT DO THIS!! There is all kind of left over residue in the toilet and you do not want that rising into you lady bits. ** Once you have placed either the bowl or the pot in the toilet, you can close your lid that you are sitting on. Feel free to also use a cushioned toddler seat to sit on for more comfort. At this time you can also add your essential oils.

Also if you do not wish to use you toilet for whatever reason, there are other methods you can use. What I have done, is I used my heat resistant bowl with my heated water and herbs. Placed it on the floor and i got into the Balasana yoga pose, which is also called the Child's Pose. This pose is just a relaxed doggy style position. Yes, i said doggy style. Check out the picture below for an example. In that pose, you need to have your knees apart for the bowl to sit under your Yoni. Of course, position yourself to where you are comfortable.



Feel free to place some blankets or some kind of cushion under your upper body for more comfort and support. Feet should be spread apart and bowl placed between legs under your yoni.


Step 3


Before you position yourself over the steam, please ensure that the steam is not too hot. If it is, let it stand for a while and continue to check it until the heat is desirable. Once you are seated on the toilet or positioned over your steam, let your skirt hang over your legs and bowl/ toilet. Or if you have your blanket or large towel, wrap it around you trapping the steam underneath. During my research, I have found that it has been recommended to wrap your upper body as well to help regulate your body temperature. I on the other hand, have found that to be extremely uncomfortable; I get too hot. So, I like to be naked at the top.


Step 4


Now that you are seated, the final step is to enjoy your steam. Take this time to clear your mind and relax. Release all of your negative thoughts and bring in the energy of self-love and appreciation.

I like to take this time to light my candles, turn off all of lights and meditate. I also have my healing stones placed around me or around the bowl.


FYI** If sitting on the toilet and the Child's Pose method is not well suited for you, feel free to improvise. I have seen many videos on Youtube where women have used the inside of ottomans, crates and two chairs. The two chair method is where you place two dining room chairs about 6 inches apart and place the steam on the floor. You then position yourself between the two chairs, so the steam rises up into your Yoni and cover yourself with your desired cloth.


How Often Should I Steam?


Depending on your body type and how you react to the herbs, you can steam once a week. A lot of women like to steam once a month, after their menstrual cycle. I personally enjoy steaming 2 times a month. Once after my flow and then two weeks later in preparation for the next cycle.
